Risk analysis in HR/Payroll
Due to my in-depth studies and experience around employer risks in payroll, I cover a very broad range of topics. In payroll and HR administration, a wide variety of topics must be implemented correctly:
Labour law, contract law / employment conditions, insurances incl. social security and pension fund, taxes (salary certificates, withholding taxes), expense and various HR regulations, information and processes, data protection, industry-specific regulations, special remuneration elements such as employee participations / stock and fringe benefits, company car etc., payroll accounting system, provisions and posting, declarations, situations in an international environment, cross-border commuters, expatriates, international weekly commuters, project workers/assignments, board members, freelancers, staff lending, secondments, work and residence permits, among others.
I combine interviews with the study of documents and samples and draw up a report with an assessment of the risks according to the traffic light system as well as recommendations for action.
I also choose this procedure for due diligences in cases of company acquisitions and sales.
Audits by various authorities
Audits and controls must always be expected. The areas are manifold: AHV (old age and survivors insurance – OASI), UVG (accident insurance law)/ SUVA (Swiss accident insurance for certain industries), withholding taxes, taxes (wage statement, expense regulations), short-time work, tripartite and parity for collective employment agreements (CEA), compliance with working time regulations etc.
I will support you with data preparation, risk assessment and assist you with answering questions and conditions imposed by authorities.
In-depth audit by the external auditors
Payroll is often not within the in-depth know-how of audit experts. Especially when taking over audit mandates, an in-depth audit can be useful.
I support audit teams for requested payroll/HR audits of their clients.
Support of the internal audit
HR / Payroll is regularly in the planning cycle of internal auditors. When payroll software is replaced, for example, it should be checked whether the system correctly reflects the legal requirements.
I support the teams selectively or during planning and implementation of such audits and prepare reports according to their specifications.
